Our story
RRW was started in 2014 by Ben Reed, Neil Reynolds and James Wilson. The three of them had worked together for seven years before going out on their own, and between them they had more than six decades of experience in shopfitting, commercial joinery and interior fit-out.
Ben was born in Truro and lives in Redruth. He holds an FdSc in Sustainable Construction from the University of Plymouth and runs the business day to day, managing estimates, client relationships and procurement. Neil was born and raised in Penzance and is a City and Guilds accredited carpenter and joiner with nearly three decades in the trade. James was born in Truro and lives in Camborne. He is a City and Guilds accredited joiner who focuses on manufacture and install.
The name comes from their surnames: Reed, Reynolds, Wilson.
The team has grown since 2014, but the way the business operates has not changed. We take on work we can do well, we are straight with clients about what is and is not achievable, and we take responsibility for the finished result.
How we work
Design, manufacture and install under one roof.
A project starts with a site visit. We want to see the space and understand the brief before we put any numbers together. From that initial conversation we develop a design, source materials, make the joinery in our workshop and install it ourselves.
We keep as much of the work in-house as we can. The joinery that ends up in your space was built by the people who also designed it and installed it. That reduces the risk of miscommunication between design and build, and it means we have a direct stake in every decision made during manufacture.
Where specialist trades are needed, such as electrical or plumbing work, we use local contractors we know and trust. We manage them during the project rather than passing that responsibility to you.
We are SMAS Worksafe certified, fully insured and our team holds City and Guilds accreditations. We build to building regulations throughout. Most of our clients come back to us for future projects, and most new enquiries come through referrals. We try to be the kind of business that earns that.
Based at Cardrew Industrial Estate, Redruth.
Our workshop is on Cardrew Industrial Estate in Redruth, Cornwall. This is where the joinery and furniture for every RRW project is made. We use CNC machinery alongside traditional joinery techniques, and we carry out quality checks before components leave for site.
Solid surface fabrication also happens here, including thermoforming, seamless jointing and the production of integral sinks and draining areas.
