Full retail fit-out for Happy Socks in Covent Garden, delivered to a tight Christmas deadline. Bespoke point of sale joinery and counter manufactured in Cornwall, shipped to London and installed on site.
The Brief
Happy Socks needed a full fit-out for their new retail unit in Covent Garden, one of London’s busiest shopping destinations, in the build-up to Christmas. With footfall at its peak and the clock ticking, they needed a contractor who could deliver a complete, high-quality fit-out without the luxury of time or easy access.
The Solution
Having already worked with the designer on Timberland and Havaianas stores in St Ives, this was a relationship built on trust, and the Happy Socks project in Covent Garden gave us the chance to take that further. We managed the full project from our base in Cornwall, manufacturing all bespoke point of sale joinery and the counter in our Redruth workshop before shipping everything to London ready for installation.
On site, the realities of Covent Garden at Christmas meant careful planning at every stage. Loading restrictions limited deliveries to early mornings, and external painting had to be completed out of hours to avoid disruption to the public. None of it was straightforward, but that kind of logistical challenge is where good project management earns its keep.
The result was a finished unit delivered on time, in one of the most demanding retail environments in the country, to a standard the designer was confident enough in to appoint us on their next project at a store in Greenwich.
